Whatever stage your project is at, we can help – from inception to completion.

Work StagES

This is our first correspondence, usually by telephone or email to discuss the brief and location of the project. From there we can meet in person, for the first site meeting and define the initial brief.
The brief may evolve through the process, (normally during Work Stage 2 - Concept Design) as we explore different options, but during stage 0, we will help to define your brief and our fee proposal by way of an estimate or agreeing a rate.

Gathering survey information to determine a sites constraints:
-
Surveys: Measured building surveys, Photographic surveys.
-
Drawings: Digital models and drawings of the existing site features.
-
Mapping: Obtaining Ordnance Survey data and commissioning a topographical survey of the site.
-
Records: Obtaining service records (electricity, gas, water, telecoms and drainage) and planning records.

Exploring the potential of the site within the parameters set within the client brief:
-
Producing sketch proposals for client discussion.
-
Client meetings to explain and discuss the proposals.
-
At this stage we may also engage with local planning authority to explore the possibilities and obtain informal opinions through pre-application enquiries.

Design & Planning:
-
Refining the project designs to work towards a planning submission.
-
Often based upon appearance and function, but generally not construction.
-
Assessing the required consultants and managing their input and expenses.
